Suka nonton film Kungfu Panda?

Di Kungfu Panda 3, Master Shifu meminta Po untuk mengajarkan Kungfu kepada ke lima temannya yang awalnya lebih dulu mahir Kungfu. Tahu sendiri, po yang ceroboh malah disuruh mengajar, mana bisa dia. Alhasil, di hari pertama dia mengajar, bukannya tambah bisa, malah membuat latihan ke lima temannya menjadi berantakan. “… you are a loser!” Begitu kata burung Bangau yang melintasi Po. Ini membuatnya ingin berhenti mengajar, karena yakin tidak bisa melakukannya.

Tapi, ada satu kalimat dari Master Shifu yang menarik.

Dia berkata,” If you never do what you can’t do, you will never be more than what you are now!”.

Kemudian, Po berkata,” I don’t wanna be more. I like who I am!”.

Tulisan ini adalah panduan menulis bagian terakhir untuk beasiswa LPDP dimana akan membahas tentang menulis esai “Sukses Terbesar dalam Hidupku”.

Sebelumnya, sudah dibahas tentang cara menulis esai “Kontribusiku Bagi Indonesia” dan “Rencana Studi”.

Instruksi dibuku panduan LPDP adalah:

Menulis essay (500 sampai 700 kata) dengan tema: “…. “Sukses Terbesar dalam Hidupku”.

Dari instruksi ini kita dapat mengetahui bahwa tulisan esai ini akan terdiri dari 5 sampai 7 paragraf karena dibatasi maksimal 700 kata. Satu paragraf bisa berisi 100 kata atau lebih. Perhitungan seperti ini sederhana, tetapi penting dalam membantu kita dalam membuat draft tulisan. Artinya kalau ada 7 paragraf misalnya, di paragraf 1 akan berisi pembukaan dan paragraf 7 akan berisi kesimpulan atau penutupan. Watching Hillary talk policy moves me. She doesn’t speak in euphemisms or generalized outrage. When she answers questions in debates and interviews, her command of the issues is evident. She knows every fact, listens to every viewpoint, has considered every contingency, and formulated a plan. She does so on such wide ranging topics from illegal immigration, to vaccine development, to climate change, and beyond. The small Texas school that I went to had a tradition carried out every year during the eighth-grade graduation: a beautiful gold and green jacket (the school colors) was awarded to the class valedictorian, the student who had maintained the highest grades for eight years. Panduan Menulis Esai: LPDP (Kontribusiku Bagi Indonesia)

Melalui tulisan ini, saya ingin memberikan sedikit panduan buat teman – teman yang sedang menyelesaikan aplikasi esai melamar beasiswa, baik untuk sebuah degree atau pun exchange program. Saya coba untuk memberikan panduan sesederhana mungkin, mencoba menghindari terminologi ilmiah yang bisa memusingkan. Langsung saja ya.

Ditulisan ini akan dibahas tentang bagaimana menulis satu esai dalam aplikasi beasiswa LPDP, yaitu tentang Kontribusiku bagi Indonesia.

Begini. Menulis itu yang sulit adalah menulis dengan organisasi yang baik. Tidak bertele – tele kesana kemari, tapi to the point langsung menjawab pertanyaan atau langsung memberikan informasi sesuai dengan instruksi yang diberikan untuk esai tersebut.

Saya sudah banyak membantu mengoreksi tulisan esai teman – teman yang ingin melamar beasiswa. Kelemahan paling umum adalah isi tidak menjawab langsung pertanyaan esai, tidak langsung memberikan informasi yang sesuai intruksi, tidak rinci, kurang informasi terkait informasi akademik, terutama yang berkaitan dengan bidang yang akan dipelajari.
